After some fair weather in recent weeks mixed with some showery spells, Nottingham is set for a few days of near-tropical weather next week - making it hotter than some European cities . The mercury is set to rise to highs of 25C across the county and the East Midlands over the coming days - and it could be some early music to the ears of those planning a visit to Download Festival next weekend.

Monday (June 9) and Tuesday (June 10) will see some ordinary British weather, with dry spells and temperatures in the mid-to-late teens. But from Wednesday (June 11) to Friday (June 13), locals can expect a terrific trio of sunny days and warm temperatures.
