A 13-year-old boy was arrested Saturday evening following a shooting investigation by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) that began Thursday in Kitchener.

On Thursday around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a call in the area of Monte Carlo Street and Victoria Street South after multiple reports of gunshots.

Police arrived to find a group of young people had gathered outside a residential complex when a man approached them.

The man allegedly fired several gunshots into the ground before fleeing the area on foot. Nobody was injured.

On Saturday around 7:10 p.m., the WRPS' General Investigations Unit, Emergency Response Team and patrol officers conducted a search warrant in the area of Strasburg Road and Kingswood Drive.
