Adored wife of the late Alvin Serkes for 49 years; mother and mother-in-law of Jeff Serkes (SuEllen), Jody L Serkes (partner Peggy Ghertner).

A graduate of Hawthorn High School in East Saint Louis, she then attended Washington University. She married Alvin Serkes. She was the Past President of the Women’s Variety Club of Saint Louis, a Member of Temple Israel, and SLICHA.

Above everything else, DJ enjoyed time spent with family and friends, whether at the family dinners, going out to parties and meet ups with friends. And as far as friends, she was a member of the “LongLasters” club. The women who are well into their 90s and some now not. Dottie “Doo” Levin, Audrey Schmidt, Lois Bender, Suzanne Lasky, Maxine Levy, Reva Ashkenazy. Her friends were far and wide.
