Beginning July 1, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University athletic departments will be allowed to share up to $20.5 million annually in revenues from their respective media rights deals with their athletes.
College sports’ new era of revenue sharing was finally set in motion Friday as Judge Claudia Wilken of California’s Northern District Court approved the landmark House vs. NCAA settlement agreement.
As a result of settling the three consolidated antitrust lawsuits that made up the House case, the National Collegiate Athletic Association will surrender $2.8 billion to former college athletes who competed from 2016-24 as back pay for lost name, image and likeness compensation.
