After weeks of dry, smoky conditions and extreme fire risk, southeastern Manitoba got some rain on Saturday — and there’s more on the way today.

Rainfall totals from Manitoba Agriculture show much of the southeast picked up between 6 and 11 millimetres. While not enough to extinguish ongoing wildfires or significantly alter fire risk, the moisture is still a welcome sight for residents, farmers, and firefighters alike.
