WHEATLEY – The site of devastation – physically, financially and emotionally – following an explosion in the downtown here nearly four years ago is ready to undergo an impressive transformation.

On Saturday, Wheatley residents gathered on a grassed area where nine buildings once stood before an explosion on Aug. 26, 2021, linked to hydrogen sulphide, rocked the area, for the unveiling of a revitalization plan for the downtown.

“This is a very rewarding day for us,” said task force chair Howard Gabert.
