A suspected drink-driver was taken to hospital after a car overturned on a residential street.

The vehicle, a dark-coloured Volkswagen, came to a rest on its roof in Wolverhampton early this morning, Sunday, June 8.

It happened near the junction of Newhampton Road West and Riches Street.

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, officers said.

He was taken to hospital with an arm injury.

Neighbours said they were awoken by the crash.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.

A resident said: "The crash woke me up (in the) early hours this morning.

"I hope the driver is OK, a lot of police (and)
