WASHINGTON — Dupont Circle Park remained closed Sunday morning, after a shooting and double stabbing in the area Saturday evening. The chaotic night came after much back and forth over whether the park should be open at all during pride weekend.
DC Police officers monitored the park Sunday, with crime scene tape keeping people out.
"That makes no sense to me,” said Richard Lewis, a long-time Dupont resident.
Lewis said he doesn't understand why the park would be blocked off more than 12 hours after the shooting and stabbing.
"I really am baffled why they're treating this differently,” he said. "There's always an incident on the weekends that requires police presence and requires investigations. And these happen 2, 3, 4 in the morning. There's no remnants of police tape or police
