A warning has been issued to "almost half a million" of people who claim Personal Independence Payment. Nearly one in two PIP claimants are not claiming enough cash from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ), it has been warned.

11 in every 100 claimants (11%) are under-claiming PIP because they have not reported a change in their circumstances. It means m ore than 400,000 people across the UK could be entitled to extra cash from the DWP, which is responsible for the benefit.

402,500 PIP claimants are not receiving the right amount of financial support, data shows. If your condition gets worse, you could be entitled to a higher rate of cash from the DWP, it has been revealed.
