The month of May was right on average, weather-wise, in Waterloo Region.
Data from the E.D. Soulis Memorial Weather Station at the University of Waterloo showed an average daily high temperature of 18.9 C, compared to the long-term average of 19.1 C.
And the average daily low came in at 7.5 C, just a bit milder than the long-term average of 7.3 C.
A release said a warmer first half of the month was offset by a cooler second half, leading to an overall temperature that was on average.
The mercury last dipped below the freezing mark May 9, which is also close to normal.
The highest temperature recorded last month was 28 C, while the lowest was -0.9 C.
The station recorded 88.2 millimetres of precipitation, making it the wettest May since 2019 but still close to the overall average of 7
