BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - It’s been a wet and stormy start to the day, but most of the rain is pushing off into south-central Alabama late this morning.
Most of us remain cloudy and dry with temperatures in the 70s. The Storm Prediction Center is holding on to a marginal risk (green), threat level one out of five, for areas along and south of I-20 today, June 8.
The severe threat today remains low. It is mainly because yesterday’s severe weather and all of the rain this morning has helped to stabilize the atmosphere. Any storm that develops this afternoon could produce gusty winds and perhaps some small hail. It looks like our storm chances will remain isolated this afternoon with the best chance to see rain south of I-20/59 through 8 p.m.
