Fire has ripped through a North Staffordshire takeaway. The interior of Sandy Lane Fish and Chips, in Brown Edge , now resembles a blacked-out shell with fire-damaged tables and chairs on the pavement.
The scene of the devastation comes as a section of Sandy Lane - between High Lane and Hough Hill - remains closed this evening. One fire engine, one fire vehicle, and three National Grid vans remain at the scene.
Brown Edge councillor Joe Porter said: "Please be aware that Sandy Lane is closed due to the fish and chip shop being on fire. Emergency services are at the scene."
StokeonTrentLive has approached Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service for a statement following this afternoon's fire.
