PANACEA, Fla. (WCTV) - Wakulla County residents threw out their rods for a good cause this weekend, supporting the Gage Pitman Memorial Rockin’ Reds Fishing Tournament.
The tournament is in honor of Gage Pitman, who was murdered at a graduation party in 2018.
“He absolutely loved fishing,” Page Pitman said. Gage was his son, and Pitman said the tournament keeps his name alive, while honoring what Gage loved to do.
Pitman said his son had a “natural knack” for fishing until his life was cut short. “Gage was a beautiful soul,” Pitman said. “Gone too soon.”
The tournament kicked off Friday afternoon and continues through Sunday at Woolley Park in Panacea.
“From the love that he had for fishing and the outdoors, hopefully, we can portray that and see other families grow to love the outd
