CORNING, Calif. -- On Saturday evening a man was arrested in Corning for a DUI hit-and-run incident, which included charges of assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at approximately 5:48 p.m. The reporting party called the incident "an intentional hit-and-run" and told authorities that it involved a possible drunk driver near the intersection of Marguerite Ave. and Solano St.
Corning police officers spoke to the victim and then located the suspect's vehicle at a local restaurant. A witness then told police that a person matching the description of the suspect had run north on First St. from the restaurant.
Police said they found their suspect, Orlando Maldonado Valencia, "hiding near bushes" and said the
