A Southwestern Ontario man charged with trafficking in a drug bust police said was worth $28,000 had the charges against him dropped last week in Sarnia.

Lambton OPP said after launching an investigation in January, they raided a home on Forhan Street in Wallaceburg on Feb. 25.

“The search warrant resulted in a seizure of just under $28,000, including suspected methamphetamine and opioids. Additionally, Canadian currency, and other offence-related items were seized,” Lambton OPP said in a statement issued on March 3.

Jason Allaer, 46, from Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with possessing meth for the purpose of trafficking, possessing opioids for the purpose of trafficking, and possessing the proceeds of property obtained by crime worth more than $5,000, police said. He was released
