The second season of The Gold premieres on the BBC today (June 8), continuing the thrilling pursuit of the remaining Brink's-Mat loot.

The series is based on the infamous 1983 Brink's-Mat heist, where thieves made off with three tonnes of gold bullion, a significant portion of which still remains unaccounted for, according to the Express .
