BURLINGTON, NC (WVNS) - The Bluefield Ridge Runners showed a lot of promise as they closed out their season opening series at Burlington.
Game 2
The Ridge Runners came into game 2 after suffering a Sock Puppet comeback victory Thursday night.
The scoring started much earlier than their first meeting. The Ridge Runners opened scoring up in the top of the first. Third baseman Ryan Niedzwiedz singled to send center fielder Cole Decker home for the first run of the night.
The Sock Puppets answered in the bottom of the first with a run of their own. Designated hitter Caiden Combs grounded out, but allowed third baseman Dusty Vela a chance to cross home plate to tie the game 1-1.
The Burlington scoring continued in the bottom of the 2nd. Shortstop Orlando Fernandez sent a sacrifice fly to c
