HOUSTON (KIAH) — The latest forecast for Houston is showing a line of strong to severe thunderstorms will develop north of Houston this evening, starting around 5 p.m.

By the time they reach the area, they should be weakening, but there is a slight chance they could make it down to the I-10 corridor. If they do, we might see isolated thunderstorms and showers in the Piney Woods late tonight.

The storms' biggest threat would be damaging winds and large hail. Hopefully, these storms will be short-lived, and mostly done by 5 a.m.

While there is a low risk of severe weather, it's still important to stay up-to-date with the latest forecast and take necessary precautions if your area is at risk.
