HOUSTON (KIAH) — Severe weather has been forecasted for the upcoming days and if things go as predicted, Houston could be looking at a lot of rain and flooding.

In response to the forecast, Governor Abbott announced that the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has been directed to activate additional state emergency response resources in advance. Houston may also see some power outages, tornadoes, or even hail.

"Texas stands ready to deploy all necessary resources to support Texans as severe weather moves across our state that has potential to bring flash flooding and heavy rain,” said Governor Abbott. “Texans are urged to remain weather-aware, regularly check road conditions, and heed the guidance of state and local officials."
