Scientists agree that dinosaurs walked the Earth during the Mesozoic era, which ranged from approximately 250 million to 66 million years ago. Interestingly, contrary to some Hollywood depictions of humans running alongside dinosaurs or even having them as pets, as in The Flintstones, humans did not emerge until much later. Scientists date the first known humanoid remains to roughly two million years ago.

Although scientific data shows that humans and dinosaurs lived roughly 64 million years apart, some people and faiths believe that dinosaurs may have coexisted with humans much more recently than scientific data indicates.
