NEW ORLEANS — Lawmakers were busy casting votes and making final decisions Sunday in Baton Rouge as this year's legislative session winds down.
Affordable housing advocates hope they see noticeable changes to homeowners' insurance.
Housing Louisiana President, Andreanecia Morris, said after years of watching premiums skyrocket and community members leave the state, something has to give.
“The people of Louisiana are more concerned about this insurance crisis than they are anything else. It will be sad if we mark this session without real investments and without real policy that will help stabilize the insurance market," Morris said.
Housing Louisiana, a statewide network of regional housing alliances, is keeping a close eye on two bills in particular.
