BELLEVUE, Wash. — In tearful silence, they stood in a Bellevue park, holding candles and hoping to bring light to a family enveloped in darkness.
In cases like this, there are often no words.
15-year-old Azjanae Brooks, known simply as Nay, was killed by gun violence late last month.
At a vigil Sunday night, the Bellevue High School freshman's vice-principal remembered her infectious spirit.
"Nay was just a force of love," said Matt Stokes.
Azjanae went missing from Snoqualmie, where she lived with her family, on May 30th.
One day later, she was found dead, 40 miles away, in the City of Shoreline.
"It's as hard as it gets, I think," said Stokes. "We shouldn't lose young people, especially not like this."
The case is shrouded in mystery.
The Medical Examiner's report revealed Azjan
