Polish and allied military aircraft were briefly scrambled early Monday in response to Russian aerial strikes targeting Ukraine. The Polish armed forces confirmed the action, which was taken as a precautionary measure amid heightened tensions in the region.

The Ukrainian air force had issued multiple alerts early in the morning, indicating that Russian drones were conducting strikes across various areas of Ukraine. In light of this, the operation commander of the Polish armed forces activated all available resources.

According to a statement from the military, "the on-duty fighter pairs were scrambled, and the ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems reached the highest state of readiness." This response was described as "preventative in nature" to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.

Approximately three hours later, around 7 a.m. local time, the Polish military reported that the threat level from Russian strikes had diminished. Consequently, the Polish and allied warplanes were returned to their regular operations.

The military reassured the public, stating, "We inform you that no violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland has been observed."

This situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected as the situation develops.
