JERUSALEM (TNND) — A Gaza-bound aid ship was seized Monday morning by Israeli forces, and the activists on board, including Greta Thunberg, were detained.

Thunberg set sail from Sicily for Gaza last week aboard the Madleen, operated by the anti-Israeli activist group, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition , with 11 other activists.

The group said the volunteers who are sailing with life-saving aid aim to "break Israel’s illegal siege of Gaza and establish a people’s sea corridor."

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition said the activists were "kidnapped by Israeli forces."
