KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Sunday marked seven years that the Nebraska Firefighters’ Museum & Education Center and The Archway have hosted ‘Fishing with First Responders.’
The free event gives community members an opportunity to interact with local first responders through fishing activities.
Jennifer Slater, director of Nebraska Firefighters’ Museum & Education Center, said the event is a token of appreciation for all of the work emergency personnel puts in.
“This is a relaxing environment and says ‘thank you’ for all they do,” Slater said. “It gets the people together with these first responders and have a connection with them in a different environment than it normally would be.“
