PARAMOUNT — Diane Martinez and Annette Delgadillo were honored by county Supervisor Janice Hahn at the May 27 Board of Supervisors meeting for becoming the first sisters and first educators to serve as mayors of the city. Hahn was joined in the presentation by Archbishop José Gomez, head of the Los Angeles Archdiocese.

Martinez and Delgadillo are active members and volunteers at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic parish in Paramount.

“Diane and Annette have been dedicated leaders for the people of Paramount, role models for young women, my partners in public service, and I am proud to call them both my friends,” Hahn said. “Their extraordinary story needs to be told, and their service deserves to be honored.”
