CRASH

SECOND STREET AND BROOKS AVENUE: A man in a Ford SUV crashed into a 37-year-old man driving a silver Chevy pickup Thursday morning. The Ford driver, whose age wasn’t specified in the police report, was eating a bowl of cereal while driving. The 37-year-old was driving south on Brooks Avenue, making a right hand turn on Second Street when the Ford driver ran a red light, crashing into the Chevy, Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson said. The man told police that he was eating cereal and also claimed his brakes weren’t working at the red light. He was ticketed for having no proof of insurance and no driver’s license and for running the stop sign.
