CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Cherokee County Schools reports that around 50 students with the Scholars Academy have been displaced following Limestone University’s closure.

The college closed its doors this year after announcing a financial crisis.

Scholars Academy students who were housed at Limestone University have been relocated to an area of the Gaffney High School building, school officials said.

Officials report dual enrollment courses previously taken at Limestone University will now be taken at the Spartanburg Community College - Cherokee Campus. Transportation will be provided.

Scholars Academy students and early college students can receive their high school diploma and an Associate’s degree from Spartanburg Community College, according to officials.
