HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island woman is behind bars on Monday morning after police say she crashed her car while drunk with children in the backseat without seatbelts.
Police say that early on Sunday morning, Maresy Eliza Rabanales Estrada, 25, was driving drunk when she crashed into a parked car while turning a corner on the 1200 block of West Anna Street.
A witness heard the crash and responded to help a three and six year old out of the vehicle. They both sustained injuries as they were not wearing seatbelts and had to be transported to the hospital.
GIPD said that when they used the breathalyzer test, Rabanales Estrada blew a false high reading, so they ordered a blood test to determine her actual blood alcohol content.
