A driver from southern Ontario is charged with impaired operation and other offences after being found parked on Highway 69 in Sudbury.

The OPP said officers checked on the vehicle around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the Greater Sudbury Police station for further testing.

Clayton McKenzie, 36, from Pefferlaw, was charged with impaired operation over 80 mgs, driving while under suspension, use of an unauthorized plate, and being a new driver unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on July 9.

McKenzie was also issued a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
