CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — An investigation is underway after a body was found in a wooded area Monday morning.

An adult man was found around 10 a.m. off of Veterans Parkway, a Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) spokesperson said.

The man is believed to be a known member of the local homeless community, police said.

A cause of death was not determined at the scene. An autopsy will be conducted.

His identity will not be disclosed until the first of kin is notified.
