Meetings held last week between government and steel industry officials confirm that liquidity and further protecting Canada from dumped foreign steel are paramount.

Sault Ste. Marie MP Terry Sheehan spent several days late last week in a variety of meetings with the Canadian Steel Producers Association, steel company executives, unions and other political leaders, to identify short-, medium- and long-term solutions to help the industry in light of President Donald Trump’s 50 per cent tariffs on Canadian product entering the United States.
