LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Work to fix Laredo’s old water pipes will begin next Monday, June 16, city officials said.
The company hired by the city is ready to start the $11.3 million project. The work will happen in all parts of the city.
In the first part, the city will fix pipes that have broken more than 200 times and caused the loss of over 17 million gallons of water.
Noraida Negron with the City of Laredo said water service interruptions will be limited. “Water interruptions will only happen, maybe just that one day, and just for the few hours that maybe a person is at work, that they’re not going to be at home,” she said. “The company will be going door-to-door as soon as we start the first phase.”
