WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — The governor of West Virginia announced a major overhaul of the state’s transportation priorities after he said “virtually” no funding for road repairs was left when he took office.

Gov. Patrick Morrisey said Monday that state road crews will begin focusing on repairing and preserving existing bridges and roads, according to a news release.

“From jobs to schools to safety, infrastructure connects every part of life in our state,” Morrisey said in the news release. “But what we have uncovered are mismanaged funds, mounting debt, and basic roads and bridges falling apart.
