Montreal Canadiens assists ace Lane Hutson has been honoured as the Calder Trophy winner for the 2024-25 season, while Calgary Flames netminder Dustin Wolf finished second in voting for the NHL’s rookie of the year award.
Hutson, who matched Larry Murphy’s longstanding record for most helpers by a freshman blueliner, topped the ballot with 1,832 points. He received 165 first-place nods.
Wolf earned 1,169 points, including 15 top-of-the-heap mentions.
San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini rounded out the top three at 1,104 points.
Wolf, who recently turned 24, was a stalwart for the Flames in his first full season at the NHL level.
