PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A man found guilty earlier this year of shooting at three officers after a police chase in 2021 was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

A representative for Multnomah County Judge Jenna Plank confirmed that 42-year-old Joshua William Degerness received a 300 month sentence, of which 225 months, or nearly 19 years, will be hard time under Measure 11 .

Degerness was found guilty in March on 14 total charges , including three counts of attempted murder, for the December 2021 shooting.

According to the Multnomah County DA’s Office, the incident began on the night of Dec. 11, 2021, an officer tried to pull Degerness over near Southeast 92nd Avenue and Southeast Holgate Boulevard, but he sped away.
