WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery in Southeast D.C.

Police say on Tuesday at 2:43 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 700 block of South Capitol Street, SE.

According to police, a victim was robbed by an unknown man armed with a gun before the man fled on a VEO electric bike.

MPD provided a picture of the suspect from surveillance footage, as seen below:
