When the figurative rain started to pour, “Friends” actor Matt LeBlanc was there for his co-star Lisa Kudrow, just like the show’s theme song promised.
Back in the ’90s, the television show introduced the world to Kudrow’s eccentric character, Phoebe Buffay. She quickly became a fan favorite — smelly cats and all — but stepping into Phoebe’s shoes wasn’t exactly a walk in Central Park.
During a June 6 interview for Variety’s Actors on Actors series with actor Parker Posey, Kudrow revealed that portraying Phoebe was “so far from” who she was as a person, and admitted that the role took “work” to portray.
“I needed to justify everything she was saying in my head so that it felt like she meant it and it was real to her,” Kudrow said.
