DONIPHAN, Neb. (KSNB) - The Elsbury family of Doniphan created ‘Doniphan Diabetes Dash’ in recognition of their son, who was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes on March 22, 2017.

Around 9.8% people in Nebraska have been diagnosed with diabetes, and 5% of those case Type-1 Diabetes.

Hudson Elsbury, diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes at the age of four, now 13-years old.

“My insulin pump, it gives me insulin because pancreas stopped working” said Hudson. “So, it’s basically like a pancreas and just to keep my blood sugar level after I eat.“

Prior to Hudson’s diagnoses - Matt and Abby Elsbury, Hudson’s parents, noticed something wasn’t right, like any parent would - they searched for help.
