LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Within minutes of reports of raids in Nebraska on Tuesday, organizers used social media to put together a protest in Lincoln to speak out against Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Dozens of protesters gathered outside the City/County Building, holding signs conveying their message: “Immigrants are welcome here.”

Drivers honked their horns in solidarity against ICE’s activities in Nebraska and across the country.

One protester showed up because of the raid happening earlier in the day in Omaha.

Celeste Timberlake, who knows people who have been arrested by ICE, said she confused by the agency’s motives.
