Seth Meyers swiped at Donald Trump ’s plans to attend a performance of “Les Misérables” at the Kennedy Center with a punch line that drew a sharp comparison between the president and the musical’s main character.
“It’s the story of a convicted criminal who struggles to find redemption by going to see ‘Les Misérables’ at the Kennedy Center,” Meyers deadpanned.
Trump, the only U.S. president to have been convicted of felony crimes, is scheduled to attend Wednesday night’s performance of the production, which tells the story of an ex-convict seeking a second chance following 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread.
