WASHINGTON (TNND) — Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., of the House of Representatives said Tuesday California Gov. Gavin Newsom should be “tarred and feathered.”
A member of the press had asked the speaker at a news conference whether Gov. Newsom could face legal consequences for his actions in relation to protests against federal immigration law enforcement.
“That’s not my lane. I’m not gonna give you legal analysis on whether Gavin Newsom should be arrested, but-but he oughta be tarred and feathered, I’ll say that,” Speaker Johnson replied.
The governor is “standing in the way” of federal law enforcement and the Trump administration, the speaker claimed.
