LOS ANGELES - The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has effectively banned transgender women from participating in Olympic sports.
The USOPC published an updated version of the “Athlete Safety Policy,” dated July 18, on its website on Monday.
The 27-page USOPC document does not mention the word “transgender,” but it states that the committee would continue to work with other bodies “to ensure that women have a fair and safe competition environment consistent with Executive Order 14201.”
The order in question was issued by President Donald Trump in February and is titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”
