Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, have left the United States and moved permanently to the United Kingdom.

The couple relocated because of the reelection of President Donald Trump, according to news reports.

The two moved to the U.K. ahead of the election in November into what they initially thought would be a part-time home, according to CNN . After Trump won, they decided to make the move permanent.

DeGeneres spoke about the move Sunday during an event at a theater, according to the BBC.

“It’s absolutely beautiful,” she said, according to the BBC. “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture — everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.
