Another Detroit Pistons free agent is being relinquished as forward Lindy Waters III has reportedly signed a one-year deal to join the San Antonio Spurs.
The 27-year-old joined the Pistons last season as part of the five-team trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, Waters’ previous team.
In 14 games with Detroit, Waters averaged 3.4 points and one rebound per game off the bench. He did not appear in the playoffs for the Pistons.
Originally undrafted out of Oklahoma State, Waters joined the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League in 2021 and earned a two-way contract in February 2022, finishing his first partial season in the NBA averaging eight points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
