Latest News: Erik Menendez Appears Before Parole Board
Erik Menendez is set to appear before a California parole board this week, along with his brother Lyle , to make their case for release after spending more than 30 years behind bars for the 1989 murder of their parents.
The hearings, scheduled for August 21 and 22, come just months after the Menendez Brothers became eligible for parole when they were resentenced to 50 years to life in May. Now, they will make their separate cases for parole. Erik, 54, who was recently hospitalized for kidney stones, is scheduled to ask for his freedom first on Thursday, followed by Lyle, 57, on Friday.
