LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A new lawsuit is targeting rapper Cardi B nearly two years after her microphone tossing incident in Las Vegas.
A woman claims the GRAMMY-winning artist hit her on purpose during a performance at Drai’s Beach Club in July 2023.
The civil suit accuses Cardi B of battery, assault and negligence. The woman, listed as Jane Doe, said she was following the performer’s request to throw water to help her cool off, but was then singled out and struck.
No charges were filed the year of the incident, FOX5 previously reported. The Clark County District Attorney’s office said the case had “insufficient evidence.”
The incident went viral, and the microphone was later sold at an auction for $99,000.
