CHICAGO, Ill. - Attorneys and the family of a couple killed earlier this month from the pursuit of another vehicle gathered Thursday morning to announce that they have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city.

68-year-old Donna Julian and 66-year-old George Julian, of Alton, Illinois, were driving near the intersection of northbound Illinois Route 3 and Illinois Route 143 on the morning of July 3 when they were struck by Miko Martin, 29, a driver who was attempting to flee from a traffic stop.

According to officials, Martin's vehicle was traveling over 70 mph when he hit the Julian's car, causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames. The Julian's were both pronounced dead at the scene.
