The decision by Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to be the faces of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation was laughed off on MSNBC on Friday morning as it was pointed out they have no credibility due to their ties to Donald Trump.

MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough couldn't stop laughing as he called it "amateur night."

Speaking with the Washington Examiner's David Drucker, Scarborough was quick to single out Blanche's decision to be the one who interviewed imprisoned Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and said the high-ranking DOJ official is notable, along with Bondi, as having served as a personal lawyer for the embattled Trump.

How, he asked, does either one of them expect already highly skeptical observers to accept their word on what they will claim they uncovered?

"I just, I feel like we're still in act one of this because the Justice Department is making mistakes," Scarborough began. "I mean, sending Todd Blanche in to talk to Maxwell? No matter what happens, it is going to end up only feeding the conspiracy theory we are talking about in the Justice Department."

"Well, first of all, he was Donald Trump's personal attorney and we've had Pam Bondi and other members of the Justice Department identify themselves as Donald Trump's attorneys, not attorneys for the United States, not attorneys that represent the people," he continued.

"We are the president's attorneys, and that's how Donald Trump sees it. So using their own words, their own admission, here you have Donald Trump's own attorneys going in to talk to the co-conspirator in what Republicans say is the greatest pedophile ring in the history of the world. And are they expecting somehow to come out and say, 'Oh, yeah, she said it was all Barack Obama's fault!"

As he and the normally staid Drucker both burst into laughter, he managed to get out, "I, this doesn't, this is as George Clooney's character in The Fantastic Mr. Fox would have said: 'It's amateur night in Dixie people! It's amateur night in Dixie!' This is, this is not working."
