Tempe police are investigating a shooting early Friday morning that left a person dead near Tempe Town Lake.

Officers responded at about 1:50 a.m. July 25 after receiving a call about gunshots near Playa del Norte and Rio Salado Parkway. They found a person with a gunshot wound who died at the scene.

Police provided no other information as of 6 a.m. Friday.
